CJ: ‘All are welcome - in reality, not just in word’
Life before Open Table felt cold and dark, pushed aside like a wanderer without a safe place or somewhere to call my home.
My faith was strong and kept me going but I was constantly being made to feel like I didn’t belong or didn’t fit in, I wasn’t welcome, and there was no room.
Aimlessly meandering from place to place, in person and online, but still the same message was sensed, if not always voiced clearly.
During Covid lockdown I began to seek a new space to embed and develop my faith and stumbled across the Open Table community in Northallerton - David at All Saints Church met with me over coffee once we were allowed to meet again, and a seed was sown to explore how this could work in our community.
“This is a space... where people come and grow in faith and love.”
Open Table is more than a community. It is family. It is hope. It is the very essence of what Christ taught us to be. This is a space where God’s Spirit is moving; where people come and grow in faith and love. A space where all are welcome - in reality, not just in word. A place where we can meet and pray openly together for one another. A space where no vulnerability goes unseen. No hurt unshared. Where all belong.
