 Preacher outreach

Many forward-looking Christians have difficulty in reconciling Christ’s love for all his children with old, hostile church attitudes to LGBTQIA+ people.

The Bible is an inspiration, a resource and a tool; but it is rarely, for a Christian, a manual. If it were a manual, we would still have legal institutional slavery… and yet that is long gone. Thanks to God.

Jesus told us all to ‘love one another’, and he made absolutely no caveats or exceptions. So the exclusion of LGBTQIA+ people is wrong and damaging, both to those people - and to the churches who give them the cold shoulder.

Some churches we talk to are very nearly ready to ‘host’ an Open Table community. Others have some thinking and feeling still to do. We can help with that thinking and feeling.

Preachers available

If you and your church want to hear more about biblical and theological imperatives for the welcome of LGBTQIA+ people, we can help. We have preachers across England & Wales whom you can invite to preach upon, and to discuss, the wideness of God’s love and welcome.
