OTN trustees mark anniversary with first face-to-face meeting

On 15th June 2021, the trustees of the newly formed Open Table Network charity met in person for the first time at St Werburgh's Spondon, Derby, which hosts Open Table Derby, and shared this greeting for the Network on the 13th anniversary of our first Open Table community gathering in Liverpool in 2008.

THIS WEEK it was the 13th birthday of the first Open Table community in Liverpool, and the sixth anniversary of Open Table becoming a network.

Our whole team met in person for the first time at St Werburgh's, Spondon, the church which hosts Open Table Derby.

Having met for a year on Zoom, we are still forming as a team, so we spent the morning getting to know each other better, sharing our lived experience, motivations and passions.

At lunchtime we broadcast a brief message to the Network on Facebook, which is now on our YouTube channel, or you can watch it here.

In the afternoon, we imagined what OTN might look like in June 2024, and shared feedback from our members and volunteers.

We reflected on the areas of OTN’s work which are most important to us, plus who we are reaching and representing, who we are not, and how we might improve our outreach to more marginalised members of our LGBTQIA+ community.

We also reviewed plans for more online worship, webinars and training for our volunteers, and began a skills audit of our current trustees to help us identify the gifts and talents we need to empower members of our communities to help develop OTN as a charity nationally.
