Open Table Network Coordinator Kieran Bohan

IN 2019 our Co-ordinator Kieran Bohan took part in the Journey of Hope, a six month leadership programme for people of faith to transform their communities.

His story of reconciling LGBTQIA+ Christians and mainstream Church through the Open Table Network, a partnership of affirming Christian worship communities, is now available as a 5 minute case study, as the Journey Of Hope seeks new participants for 2021.

Kieran said:

One of the reasons I applied for the Journey Of Hope is because Open Table is at a stage of growth and development which is involving me stepping up to be the person to lead it through this new phase.

He added:

I'm being invited into forums where I may be engaging with people with whom I profoundly disagree. I thought this may be what I need to build my resilience. This is what the Journey Of Hope is helping me to do.

The Journey of Hope is run by Reconcilers Together, a community of committed peacemakers: people of faith who believe that everyday peacemaking, from a place of our deepest values, can reconcile some of the most sacred relationships between ourselves, the Earth, our faith, and with others.

The Journey of Hope is not the kind of hope that simply wishes for change optimistically, but the kind of hope that faces reality, stands in solidarity, and takes radically compassionate action. The Journey of Hope community explores how to creatively and courageously respond to the fractures of conflict and polarization, cultivating a more relational and resilient society.

If you believe a new, more peaceful way of being is not only possible but paramount and want to be inspired by experienced faith leaders and innovative practices, the Journey of Hope is for you. Reconcilers Together are now accepting applications for the Journey of Hope in 2021.
