Right Revd Karen Gorham, Bishop of Sherborne.
OPEN TABLE Weymouth is delighted to welcome the Bishop of Sherborne, Right Revd Karen Gorham, to lead a special celebration of Communion on 6th July.
Bishop Karen is an assistant bishop in the Church of England Diocese of Salisbury.
The Bishop of Sherborne is responsible for the parts of the diocese in Dorset.
She is committed to new ways of being church including pioneer ministry, mission initiatives and pilgrimage. In September 2024 Bishop Karen wrote:
‘I know there is space for an Open Table in Dorset… for the sake of those who already feel welcome at God’s table, and more importantly for those who have yet to experience the warm embrace of God’s love and the welcome Christ offers.’
Open Table Weymouth welcomes Bishop Karen as we gather to celebrate faith, trust and hope - our usual inclusive liturgy, sharing bread and wine (grape juice), recalling the meal that Jesus shared - and shares with us now.
Wonderful too, that some of our friends will be being confirmed sharing faith - as they say what they believe about God, what they hope for the world and what they trust about Jesus.
Communion at 6.30pm followed by refreshments.
