Have your say about Living In Love & Faith this month

THE DEADLINE to respond to the consultation on Living In Love & Faith (LLF) - the Church of England’s resources on identity, sexuality, relationships and marriage - is fast approaching.

If you have taken part in an LLF course - or if you have not but still have feedback for the bishops leading the process - you have until Saturday 30th April to complete this questionnaire.

We know that our members have had mixed feelings about engaging with LLF. We aimed to reflect this in our response to the LLF resources in November 2020, in which we wrote:

We want to encourage members of the Open Table Network within the Church of England to offer constructively critical engagement with the process, but only if it feels safe enough to do so.

As a charity working with churches in five different church traditions - including the United Reformed Church, Church In Wales, Baptist and Methodist Churches, we also recognised that, while LLF is a Church of England process, the nature and size of the Church of England and the media’s response to it means it's likely to have some kind of impact on many LGBTQIA+ Christians in England whether or not they're part of the Anglican Church.

Nic Tall from Equal, the campaign for equal marriage in the Church of England, writes:

So far, the level of response across the C of E is mixed, with some dioceses having - literally - just a handful of responses. This consultation will inform the College of Bishops and General Synod about the views across the C of E, so it is vitally important hat the broad inclusive voice of Anglicans across England speaks up and is heard. A report of the feedback will be published around September, and will be one of the main documents advising the bishops on what to put before the General Synod in February 2023.

Please make sure your voice is heard - complete this questionnaire or, If the format of the questionnaire does not create space for this, you can email llf@churchofengland.org.
